A Brisbane cablegram announces the death.of Lady Bell, widow of the late < Sir Joshua Peter Bell. A Tauranga wire announces tho death : , of the Rev. Canon Gbodyear, agod : " sixty-three. He was superintending " Maori Missioner in the Bay of Plenty, including Rotorua. He was the last of the Maori missioners sent out by the Church Missionary Society. He arrived at Wairoa (Hawke's Bay) in 1878, was stationed at Maketu in 1883, and Tauranga in 1896. He leaves a widow and two soub and seven daughters. Ho had been ailing for some weeks.
