MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton County Council was held yesterday afternoon, there being present: C'rs. W. ,). Welch (chairman), C. Cross, A. -T. Patchett, H. Toogood, D. Foreman, T. Miller, and K. F. JR. Beetham. Mrs M. A. Hourigan coinplained that tho water race through her property had run dry. It was reported that the matter was being attended to. Mr K. JUddiford wrote asking that the water tables on Riversdale Road receive attention. Cr. Toogood reported th.it the matter had been attended to. The Premier acknowledged the resolution passed by the Council iv connection with tho waterside workers' strike. Mr P. W. Clapham asked that .some repair work be carried out on the Alf-redton-Hinemoa road. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the representatives of the riding and the engineer. j In connection with the proposal of j the Castlcpoint County to oppose its present contribution towards tho cost of maintenance of the Masterton-Wai-mata Road it was decided to contest tho matter before the commissioner and adhere to the original allocation..
