OBJECTION TO PONY-RACING

(Received Tuesday, at 10.55 a.m.) BRISBANE, Tuesday.

The City Council lias declined to renew the license of the cricket ground until the trustees discontinued pony racing. Acceptances for the Foxton meeting close to-morrow evening, at 9 o'clock.

At a meeting of the District Committee of the Wellington Metropolitan Racing Club, held yesterday afternoon, the line imposed on Jockey T. Catt by the Wairarapa Racing Club for careless riding was confirmed, and the action of the Taratahi-Carterton Club in disqualifying Master Lupin and awarding second money to Arrahna in the hack race was also confirmed.
