A wedding of considerable local interest took place in St. Matthew's Church this afternoon, when Miss Nora Catherine Bennett, youngest daughter of the late Mr Joseph Bennett, of! Otahoua, was married to Mr Horace Wilfrid Rishworth, son ot the Rev. J. S. Rishworth, of Auckland. The service was fully choral, and the Rev. Herbert Watson ofriciated. The bride looked very charnfing in a handsome cream, brocaded gown, with lace sleeves, and a ninon lace suspended, from the shoulders. She wore a tulle veil fastended with a bandeau of pearls and. jasimine, and carried a bouquet of beautiful Avhite flowers. The, only bridesmaid was Miss Wilniot Bennett, sister of the bride, who was attired in a, smart brocaded crepe do chine frock of pastel blue with train, and. :•_ hat of white crepe do chine with ostrich plumes. Mr Berne Vallance, of Kahumingi, acted as best man, and a large number of relatives and guests were present. Miss Vallance wore. a. black duchesse satin with a brocaded coat, and a hat of white tagel straw with ostrich plume and pink roses. Miss B. Vallance wore a soft blue liberty cashmere-de-soir, and. a black hat trimmed with a. white ostrich feather and posies of pink and blue flowers. Mrs Coom wore a. grey charmeuse with touches of blue, ami a black tagel hat with a lancer plume. Mrs Archer Hosking wore a grey canvas voile with short panels of Oriental embroidery and a black crepe de chine hat trimmed with tulle and pink roses. Mrs Hosking wore a black satin embroidered gown and a smart black and white toque.
Alter the ceremony the Misses Yall■ance entertained a large number of guests at Otahoua, when the customary speeches were made, and the happy couple received the congratulations of their many friends.
Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Horace Rishworth left by motor car to spend several weeks' honeymoon, after which they will take up their residence in Cornwall street, Masterton.
