HOCKEY.
Post and Telegraph defeated St. Matthew 's in, a T.P. Shield match yesterday by 2 goals to nil. The goals were obtained in the early pa,rt of the game by Bichards and Miller. Pushing, ob-struction-and general "hustling" tactics were the order of- the day, a,nd there were several glaring breaches of the rules. Hockey does not seem to be improving in this respect in Masterton. Mr F. Eosson was referee; On Thursday next P. and T. will play-off with Excelsior for the shield.
