Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Pahiatua, report on their Pahiatua sale held on Tuesday. 23r<1 inst., as follows:—We offered a large yarding of sheep and cattle to a very large attendance of buyers, aud have to report a good clearance at late rates. Quotations: —Sheep: Ewes with 100 per cent lambs 23s 9d, hoggets 16s 2d to 17s 3d. Cattle: Store cows £2 16s to £3 Ss; store heifers, £2 Ss £3 2s 6d to £3 15s; yearling heifers, £1 7s 6d to£2 12s; yearling steers 265, £2, £2 9s to £2 16s; heifers with calves at foot £5 5s to £6; heifers ou drop £5 7s 6d, £5 10s, £5 17s 6d, £6, £6 10s, £6 17s 6<l, £7 to £7 7s (id; heifers ou drop in backward candition £4 ss, £4 10s, £4 15s to £5 2s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report:—' We held our weekly sale in the Mangahao yards on Tuesday last, when we offered a medium entry of both sheep and cattle to tne usual attendance of buyers. We soli.l mixed sex hoggets to l(is Bd, empty ewes to 20s, 2-tooth wethers to 17s, springing heifers, from £5 15s to £6 12s 6d,"othcrs to £5 ss, mixed weaners <to £1 16s.
