"A STRANDED SHIP."
THE PEINCES' TEUST,
Press Association—Electric Teleerapb—Copyright. BEBLIN, Tuesday.
Prince Max Furstenberg finds it necessary to float a public loan of £1,100,000 sterling, mortgaging the bulk of his properties in the Grand Duchy of Baden as security.
These include the famous Donauschingen estate, where the Kaiser is his annual guest, also a great brewery.
The money is needed to finance his and his partners' multifarious interests.
The newspapers interpret the projected loan as the latest step in the liquidation of the Princes' Trust, which is described as a stranded ship.
(It was reported on July 20th: —Financial circles are interested in the approaching truce between two of the moat powerful money groups—the German Deutchse Bank and the so-called Princes' Trust, consisting of the Kaiser's best friend —Price Max Furstenberg—and Prince Christian HohenlohcOvringen, a kinsman or the Kaiser. The groups have waged war for five years. Th.c Princes' Trust possessed enormous industrial assets, but lately lacked cash. It is believed the truce will avert a grave economic crisis.)
