The immediate cause of death was coughing due to the brllet in his throat which was not removed after his attempted murder three years ago by a dock labourer named Gallaher. , The polio escorted the body to the Town Hall when the steamer arrived at Liverpool, where it was continuously guarded until transhipment to the United States.
