LEVIN SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, report as follows: —At our Levin sale on Friday last we had a very sutisfact6ry yarding of both sheep and cattle. The stock was offered to a large attendance, of the public, and prices for sheep were most satisfactory, the demand all through being keen. Exceptionally good lines of wethers and hoggets came forward. For this class of stock, there was quite a number of buyers, and consequently prices realised were in favour of vendors. The demand for dairy cows and heifers was not too good, and in a number of instances yen-
dors reserves were not reached. For an exceptionally good line of mixed sex Komneys hoggets from the Boys' Training Farm, the record price of 18s (3d per head was realised. Fat cattle: We had an entry of very prime cows from the State farm, and these realised £10 Ss to £9 .13s per head. Other sales were as under: —Sheep: Sound mouthed breeding OAves in lambs, 20s, I.Bs 4d, 17s 9d, 17s Sd; extra good mixed sex Homney hoggets, 18s 6d; medium hoggets, 14s to 14s 7d; prime fat wethers '25s to 25s 4d; medium fat wethers, 22s lid; forward wethers, 20s to 21s 4d. Cattle: Store cows, £2 ISs to £3 ss; springing heifers, £5 10s to £5 15s; empty heifers, £3 12s to £4 10s; a nice line of 25 3-year steers sold at £(i ss; light weight fat cows, £5 5s to £5 15s; dairy cows, £(i to £8 ss.
