CLEARING SALE AT MANGAHAO.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report:. — We held a most successful clearing sale on behalf of Mr H. M. Hay ward, at his homestead. Mangahao. on Wednesday last, when we offered the whole of his Jive and dead stock, implements, etc. There was a very large attendance of buyers from the surrounding districts, and the sale can be put down as being one of the very best ever held in these parts. The dairy cows were a particularly choice lot, being all young, in the pink of condition, aud showing well up to profit. These met "with keen competition, and made the very fine average of £S Ms per head, which is all the more noteworthy, as there were two cull cows included in the herd, these two selling at £4 and £5 13s respectively. With these two cows left out, the herd averaged £9 4s. The horses also met with tip-top competition. A 6yr old mare in foal to Lord Gordon made £30, a _yr old colt by Lord Gordon £17, a yearling colt by the same horse £15, and an aged gelding £11. The following are a few of the prices realised:— Cows, £11. £10 12s 6.1. £10 2s Gd. £9 10s. £9 as. £9 2s (id. £9. £S 17s fid, £8 15s. £S 10s. £S ss. £7 iris, 7 10s; breeding sows up to £0 4s: Jersey cross weaner heifers £4 Lis, fat ewes to 245, fat lambs to 20s, pump separator £15, McConnick mower £12 10s, Lever plough £9 ss. Other implements, sundries, furniture, etc., brought full market value.
