Hughes, Pahiatua, and Miss Teunent, Wellington. Combined Doubles.—W. Pearse, Teinuka, and Miss R. Wellwood, Hastings. The Wairarapa Championship Tennis tournament was concluded to-day. The weather was perreet, and the courts played well. The Finals. The Men's Championship Singles4vas annexed .by W. Pearse, of Teniuka, who easily defeated D. Howden, of Masterton, in the final. . ;, . ■ : PeJirse and Spain fought out the final of the Men's Champion Doubles,. with Martin and S. E. Gawith. Peiilse and Spain took the first two sets, and the championship. The runners-up put iip a good fight against their more experienced opponents. Miss Wellwood and Miss Mcßcth were defeated in the final of the Ladies' Championship Doubles by Miss J?. Hughes and Miss Tennent. As was to be expected, Pearse and Miss Wellwood won the Combined Doubles, defeating Eoydhouse and Miss D. Booth in the final. Concluding results: — MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. —(Present champion: G.
