There i» a considerable amount of uu?nndorstanding abroad with regard to the proposals of the Bible in State Schools League. The system has been working in New South Wales for nearly half a century, and there is abundant testimony from educational experts and schoolmasters that it has worked successfully. The local branch of the League hold their first public meeting 1 in St. Matthew's Schoolroom on Tuesday week, January 28th, at S p.m., when the speaker will be the Rev. G. S. Cook, of Thorndoii. Mr Cook is able to speak from first hand personal experience, as he was educated in New South Wales, and two of his brothers are at present, schoolmasters in that colony. Personal experience is of far more value than theories and suppositions, and those who are doubtful as to the advisability of introducing the system into our Dominion would do well to hear what Mr Cook lias to say.
