Weather attracted for Oaks Day a large number of people, especially ladies who were disappointed on tho. other two days. This accounted for tho crowd, which was a record one for the day. The Govornor-Gcncral was amongst those present. The racing on the whole was interesting. Results: — Hurdle Kace. —Warwidgerio ■ 11.9, 1; Clontaft 9.6, 2; Goldfish 9.11, 3. There Mere niue .starters. Won by threequarters of a length, Time, -Gnrin. 45 sec. . • •
Mimosa Stakes. — Maltravers 1, Scotch Malt 2, Becks Lager X. The wiuner led all the way, and won by half a length. Time, lmin. 45sec.
Linlithgow Stakes. —Mountain Priu--O.OBS 1, Sylvander 2, Wolawa 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2min. 36Asoc.
Carnival Handicap.—Wool 7.9, 1; Mangar 8.9, 2; Shuja 8.2, .".. There were eleven runners. Won by three lengths. Time, 2mm, 2Glsec. Oaks.—Ttfoe 1, Perdita 2, Symetris 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2min. Msec.
Veteran Stakes. —Saudbath 1, Oaktlnnc 2, Cadonin .'»■. There were eight other starters. Sandbath led from the barrier rise and won by one and a half lengths. Time, 2min. ">4sec.
