WEDDING
THOMPSON—WADDINGTON.
A very pretty wedding of consider-, able local interest was celebrated at St* Matthew's Church this afternoon, when , Miss Julia Martha (Mattie) Wadding-. .... ton, the eldest daughter of Mr E. 1f... ~ Waddington, of this town, ..was united., iv the holy bonds of matrimony with "', Mr Henry Theodore Thompson, of Wellington. The Rev. H. Williams officiated. The bride, who was given away by . her father, looked very charming jin"..a,. . white brocaded silk gown, and a bcauti- : ful old veil of Brussels lace, and .the. customary orange blossoms and, bouquet. She was attended by four bridesmaids. The two elder, Miss Wilhelmi'na.' Waddington (sister) and Miss Holcn Maclaurin (cousin) were becomingly attired in floral muslins and lace caps. The.' younger two, Miss Jessie Waddington (sister) and Miss Catherine Ball (of Napier), wore pretty book 'muslin. frocks, and all carried basket's of .beau-"* tiful violets. The best man Was M',Jfc Bristowe Waddington (brother), amiMr Mr Terrant, of Wellington, acted as; \ groomsman. After the ceremony ilr and Mrs Waddington entertained' the: '■ wedding party at their residence iri Church-street, and later in the after-' noon the happy couple left by motor ear for the North. Mr and Mrs 'Thpmpson's future home will be in Du'rio'din,' the bridegroom having recently ' been promoted to a good position in tho Audit Department in that city. A large number of handsome and useful presents testify to the popularity of the-' -•■ young couple.
