MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The usual monthly meeting of tho Council was hold on Saturday last. Present—Civs O. Churchill Jackson (chairman), H. J. Dngg, J. E. Perry, O. Seymour, L. P. Larson and R. .T'ldd. , . Mr R. McKinnon s application tor renewal of slaughterhouse license was approved. Mr H. R. Renall wroto stating that the late flood in the Makakahi Kivor, at Kaiparoro, had rendered tho ford dangerous. As tho Council has boon informed that tho laying of tho proposed pipo lino to convey water toEketahuna will uot interfere with tho formation or drainage of the Kaiparoro-road, tho desired permission was given to drain tho road. The secretary to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board notified' tho Council that a meeting of representatives of local authorities will bo hold at tho County Oilieo, Mastertou, on Wednesday, tho Bth day of May, to select two delegates to represonp tho Wairarapa district at tho conforenco in Wellington ro Local Government Bill. Or Soymour was authorised to get improvements effected to tho ford at Kaiparoro. Mr A. E. Blade's tender for 300 cubic yards oi metal for Droyor's Rock-road was accepted. It was resolved that the ordinary meetings of tho Council in future bogin at 10 a.m. Tho special order declaring foxglove a noxious weed within the County was conlirmed. Arrangements wvro made for metal patching on main road from Mangaliiahoo to Dreyor's Rock, and it was decided that tho chairman got patching done at the south ond of tho road, and have a now culvert put in. Cr Larson was authorised to get ropairs done to metal on Mount Muuroroail East. Papers in connection with loan for two small bridges on Mangataiuoka Valley-road, received from tho ActingTown Cleric, Eketahuna, had to be deferred for consideration at next meeting. Accounts amounting to £157 KJs 10d were passed for payment.
