Tumor advocated the creation ot" a deer herd in the vicinity of Tokaanu. He moved that it be a recommendation to the Council to approach the Government with the object of having the country round Tokaanu stocked with. deer. Mr Tumor said the question was one which concerned eve y sportsman in that deer-s'looting was very limited and tiie particular district was popular for other sport which it provided. in seconding the motion Mr Griffith thought the idea an excellent one, contending that as heads were deteriorating in the Wairarapa. tho only way to renew them in the North Island was by stocking other parts of the country.
