It attempted to tear down a paling in a fence, and then, seeing an open gateway, ran through this and into a house. The dog, in its mad career, knocked over furniture, snapping at everything that came in its way. The inhabitants of the house were naturally much alarmed, and gave the animal a wide berth. The dog then nuule out into the street, where it fiercely attacked its owner, who had heard of the dog's strange behaviour and hail come with the object of securing it. The mtin had a rake in his hand, and kept the animal at bay until {mother resident brought a gun and shot the dog. The dog had apparently gone mail, aud it was fortunate th.it he was destroyed before he was able to do injury to any person.
