A ROWDY MEETING.
VIOLENT BLOWS EXCHANGED.
BLOOD FLOWS COPIOUSLY.
Received Monday, at !) a. m. SYDNEY, Monday. Tjio Herald states that the meeting , ol' selectors to pick the Test and English teams was the noisiest and most quarrelsome ever held in connection with the national game, and finally degenerated into an open rupture. Violent blows were exchanged, and blood flowed copiously. Clem. Hill, the South Australian selector, has resigned. He alleges that Macalister received a bad mauling at the Lands of another selector. After Hill's resignation, Iredale and Macalister choso the teams. Carter, interviewed, stated that the disgruntled players will wait tilL the whole team is chosen and then consider the appointing of their own manager. If the team considers that a manager, besides the one appointed by the Board of Control, is necessaiy, and approves of Layer, whom the six desire, then none of the six will go to England unless Layer goes.
