The iinal Swimming Caruival in connection with the Sydney team's visit to the Waiteinatn Club was lield in the Auckland graving dock yesterday afternoon, before about 2500 spectators The swimming was of a, high standard, and several records were broken. Miss Dnrack, the Australian lady champion, put up two world's records for ladies' swimming. She swam -140 yds in Gmin 42sec, beating her provibus record by lOsec. She also swam 50yds in -ilsec. M. E. Cliampion reduced his .New Zealand record from 25m in to 24min '6Q 4-ssec. A. W. Barry (Sydney) swam 100 yds in 55)4-ssoe, and L. Solomons (Sydney) covered 50yds in 2(>sco. Both times are iusido thc'New Zeaiaud records, but as there is a rule whereby no New Zealand records by swimmers from other States are recognised unless the swimmers havo resided in the Dominion threo months, the old records still stand. Waitomata won the inter-Club contest with Syinoy by 1!) points to 14. In this contest the races decided on Saturday were the 100 yds and mile, both scraten events. A. W. Barry (Sydney) won the 100 yds, with L. Boardman (Sydney) second, and L. Solomons (Sydney) third. The mile resulted:—M. E. Champion (Watomata) 1, C. Nelson (Waitemata) 2, E. J. McQuillan (Waitemata) 3. Purnoll (Sydney) was fourth. Champion won by 75yds. The three Sydney men in tho race were hopelessly outclassed. Tno principal of the other events resulted:—soyds Ladies' HandicapMiss J Mackay, iHJsec, 1; Miss Dnrack, scr, 2.
