LATEST REPORT

A Press Association message from Wellington, received at 2 o'clock, states that tho tramway strike has been settled. As the message was very brief, we rang up Wellington and learned that tho Council had agreed on a proposal which will be placed before the men at :i o'clock this afternoon, and it is looked upon as certain that it will be agreed to by the strikers.
