A hastily-summoned meeting of tho Canterbury Cricket Association's Conimitteo was hold to-day, whon a letter was read from tho Wellington Cricket Association covering a challenge to play for the Pluukot Shield on January 2(»th and following days. It was at first thought that the match With Auckland, which is to be commenced on February oth, should take precedence, but after mature consideration and having regard to tho rules governing Plunket Shield matches, it was decided to accept tho challenge for the dates suggested.
