MANSLAUGHTER.

A CHARGE DISMISSED,

(By Teleoravh — Press Asfociation) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. A charge of manslaughter, arising out of tho death of George Shaw at Leithfield on December 29th, was investigated at Amber ley yesterday, James Russell beiug the accused. The evidence showed that there was some skylarking in the bar of tA Royal Hotel at Leithfield, iv tlTe course of which Russell put Shaw on tho bench. After more horseplay a lump begau to rise on Shaw's sieck, and he died as a result of laceration of a vein.

The evidence showed that there was nothing malicious in Russell's attitude, and the case was dismissed.
