INCREASE IN POSTAL MATTER.
"ANOTHER LINK."
Received Wednesday, at 0.55 a.m. MELBOURNE, Wednesday. Already a large increase is noticeable in postal matter since the inauguration of penny postage.
Mr Thomas has received a large number of congratulation messages, including one from Sir Joseph Ward, who says: "The Australian penny post completes another link in the chain of Imperial unity." He adds: "May its general introduction throughout the world quickly follow."
