A CRY OF "GRAFT."

SERIOUS ALLEGATION BY A COMMISSIONER.

WHOLESALE CORRUPTION

SIR WILFRID LAURIER

ARRAIGNED

Press Association —Electric Telegraph—Copyright.

Received Friday, at 8.20 a.m

OTTAWA, Thursday,

During the sitting of the Commission investigating Chinese immigration, Mr Joseph Martin, British Commissioner, charged the Liberal party throughout British Columbia with wholesale corruption. He alleged that Sir W. Laurier was primarily blameworthy for the graft which permeated every department of the Federal Government. Conflicting evidence was given as to whether Mr Templeman, the Federal Minister for Inland Revenue and Mines, had stated confidentially that he desired the Royal Commission on Immigration might be stopped. Mr Templeman was summoned to give evidence on the point.
