(Special to Daily Times, i

On Saturday last a clay pigeon match was hold in Mr J. H. Barby's paddock for a gold medal presented by Mr Barby. R. Harvey won the medal with seven pigeons out of eight shots. Two sweepstakes of six shots were also held, the first was won by R. Harvey, with four pigeons, and the second by W. H. Mason, with five pigeons. After the match Mr Barby presented the medal, with a few well chosen words, aud a club was formed. W. H. Mason was appointed secretary. A. A. Uamerou president; A. Mason, W. H. Barby, F. H. Tathain, K. J. Barton and W. Harvey, vice-presidenis. The first meeting of tbe club will take place three weeks from Saturday's match.

Mr W. Harvey has, this year, the heaviest crop of oats in his experience. Practically no other cropping has been done about here. This summer Cashpoint has been visited by a large number of motors and buggies, owing, no doubt, to tbe new roads. Last night the picnickers from Tenui gave a dance in the landing shed, prior to breaking camp. A very large number attended, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The dancing was kept up till daylight, Mr A. Cameron making a capable M.0., and at the conclusion hearty cheers were given for the promoters and musicians. Several racehorses have arrived here, awaiting the Castle Point races on the 4th of February.
