Fisher, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, tbat there was a national obligation towards the aboriginal population. They urged the formulation of a scheme of proper aud humane treatment, particularly iv view of the Commonwealth taking over the Norhern Territory.
Mr Fisher promised that suitable land would be made available as sanctuaries for the blacks. They would be protected from exploitation by their own or any other race. Everything would be done to make their existence happy.
