WEDDING.
KEMP - SAKER
A very pretty wedding was celo brated at St. Matthew's Church this afternoon, when Mr William Kemp, socoud sou of Mr Mark Kemp, of Epsom, England, was married to Miss Winifred Sals or, eldest daughter of Mr G. Saker, of Ferry-street, Masterton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired" in a cream taffeta dress, prettily trimmed with silk and lace. Tlie bride also wore the customary veil and orange blossoms, aud carried a beautiful shower bouquet of hyacinths and diosma. Miss Lucy Saker (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Peat, of Opunake, attended as bridesmaids, nod were dressed in frocks of white silk muslin, with picture hats to match, Mr D. Hebeuton was best mau, aud Mr R. Vaughau was groomsman. The ceremony was conducted by tlie Rev. H. Watson, and Mr H. S. Claughton, the organist, played the Wedding March.
A reception was held .subsequently iv tlie Exchange Hall, where' a large number of guests were entertained, and the usual toasts were honoured aud complimentary speeches made. The wedding cake, which was a handsome three-decker, was made by Mr H. G. Harris, uncle of the bride, of Wr.keiield, Nelson. The bride's travelling dress was a navy olue tailor-made costume, with a cream Paris hat.
Tlie gift of the bridegroom to the bride was a sewing machine, and gfco the bridesmaids he gave gold brooches. A large number of valuable aud useful presents wer« received, testifying to the esteem in which tlie bride and bridegroom are held by their miiuy friends. This evening a danco will be held in Murray's buildings, to commemorate tho occasion.
