OLD DANCES REVIVED.

The latest society craze at Homo is the old folk sougs ami folk dances. Tiiere is much controversy going on about them, and all society is learning to rlauce them. They were to have been largely used this season in fashionable ballrooms, but as there will be no balls of any account for three mouths, they will drop for a while. I'hese old folk dances, i.e.. "Morris Dances," "Bean Setting," "Country Gardens," and others, are being industriously .sought out by some enthusiasts. They fim! they have only taken up the search in time. as only quite old people remember them, and they were ou vhe verge of being quite lost. There are very few villages where Morris dancing is practised The individuals who know the steps and figures arc very old. Veterans of 75 have helped the collectors. Oue man who owned to being "T>a3fc Ins sixties" was able to give them twelve delightful Morris dances. They have taken down 180 folk song tuups, am! TO folk dances are by this means rescued from oblivion. Experts who have seen them pronounce them to be charming and graceful, and a most poetic addition to our stock of Old World practices. A great deal of time and money has been expended in tracing out the old places and people who could give authentic information.
