RACING CONFERENCE.

ALLOCATION OF DATES

WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Racing Conference opened today, Sir George Clifford (president) being in the chair.

The following dates for race meetings were approved, sabj9cfc to cerfcaiu exceptions aud amendments :— Horowheuaa, dates altered to September 2nd aud :!rd; Lower Valley, September 22nd and 2:Jrd; Otaki, October 12th aud 13th; Wellington, granted two days, from October l'.ltii to 22nd; Taratsihi-Cartertou, to revert to November i>th aud 10th; Daunevirke, November Kith aud 17th ; Manawatu, summer, December 2(3th aud 27th and a day prior to those dates; Welling - tou, January 21st, 23rd aud 25tii, with the option of altering one of the dates ; Manawatu, autumn, April ord and -Ith. The dates of tho Hawke's Bay aud Egmout meetings remain, but Egmout, if it considers that clashiug would effect its meetings, is to be given the option of selecting May 17th and ISfch, or other dates to the satisfation of the president for tins season only. South Canterbury is to be asked to select other dates for its autumn meeting to the satisfaction of the president. Ashburtou is to be given the option of changing its autumn date; to May 17th and lSfch.
