after his conviction iv certain coupon frauds last year. This conviction was subsequently quashed ou a technical DOiut. The defence was a .instifica-
tiou add that plaintiff had been engaged in a long career of swindling, and was several times warned off racecourses. The rider of Stoddard's horse Red Rube swore that lie was instructed not to win. was returned for defendants.
