STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual sale at Pahiatua yesterday, wheu they offered sheep well over advertised uumbers, and cattle and pigs up to advertised numbers; The shoep that came forward all showed that they were not the best, of the flocks, but for all that wore offered for sale as credit to their owners. We are pleased to report that good ewes are improviug iv price, aud tho demand for same was spirited. Cattlo were keenly competed for, aud wo report a total clearance. We report as follows:—Twotoot!' owes small 0s 2d to 10.. Bd, two and four-tooth ewes (small and poor condition) 8s Od to 0s 7d, mixed aged ewes Bs, 8s 3d, Ss Od, 0s Od to 10s, backward all-aged ewes 5s 8:1 to 7s 2d, cull iambs to 2s 7d, mixed store lambs ■is Oil to 5s Od, wethers two aud fourtooth 10- fo lis (id, ageod line fetched up to 12s. Cattle: Three-year steers to £-! 8s (id, fat cows to £1 Us. Wo are holding our uext sale iv the Maugahao yards as usual.
Tho N.Z. Loau and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report ou their weekly Pahiatua sale, held yesterday, as follows :— Wo had a fair yarding ot sheep aud cattle. There was also a large attendance of farmers aud buyers. Prices, on the whole, compared favourably with late rates, although at times bidding wa_ rather slow, and iv favour of buyers, and ran as follows :—Four tooth ewes 10s Oil to Us od, four-year ewes 0.. Od, s.m. ewes Os Od to 7s Od, lambs 2s lOd, 5s ">tl, 7s ;sd, rams Igu to . -hjgus. Cattle: Twenty-month steers M -is ud. cow and calves £2 8s to £3~r_, yearling steers 20s, 30. to 40s.
