Foil Sail, recently sold by Sir George Clifford, was shipped to Melbourne on Friday.
The' Hon. J. D. Ormond's team for the C.J.C. fixture consists of Forinby, Sir Tristram, Parula and Selene ; while Birkdale and Woodhey will represent the Hawke's Bay sportsman at E'.lorslie.
The ex-New Zealand neddie, Waihuku, won the Welter Haudicap, seven furlongs, at Moouee Valley (Victoria) races ou March Oth. He was sent out favourite and scored easily.
•; Gunpowder, by Hotchkiss—St. Elyn, w&s returned a winner at Caultield on March 12th.
The withdrawal of Bobrikoff from tho Doncaster Handicap evidently means that Mr Dowry's horse is to be reserved for weight-for-age events at the A.J.C. meeting. He is engaged iv the Autumu Stakes, of 1000 soys., one mile and a-half. which is to be decided ou the same day as the Doncaster.
That light of other days, old Paritutu, is in commission again, aud figures in several hurdle races at Ellerslie.
The Kara-iu stable shelters a smart colt in Birkdale, by Birkeuhcad — Thame. The youngster easily accounted for Sea Eagle aud War Soug at Napier Park on Wednesday, aud held too mauy guns for the brilliant Kohiuoor in the Kuoa Handicap the following day. If Birkdale run up to Napier Park form his opponents will have to look slippy iv the Ellerslie Haudicap ou Saturday, in which Orinond's youngster reads well iv at Tst iilb. The two-year-old is also engaged iv the Groat Northern Champagne Stakes, run on Mouday. Kiliudini will have C. Jenkius as pilot iv the C.J.C. Great Easter. Moral is reported to be souud agaiu, aud his party have hopes of racing him again in the spring. a lialf-brother to Ata-ahna is engaged iv the Maideu Scurry at Feildiug. , .
