The Bank of Eugland, in view of the Government's decision not to secure legislative sanction for the collection of .the iucoma tax, has informed the Loudon County Council that the Bauk intends to refund , the amount deducted upon the application of the owuers of stock,

The annouucemeut refers to seventyfour aud a-lialf millions of London stock, on which the income tax totals £120,000. The Council hitherto held this at the Government's disposal, but the Treasury never applied for it. The Council has agreed with the Bank's
