Mr Redmond, Leader of the Irish Party, iv a speech at Liverpool, said he was profoundly dissatisfied with the position. , "The Tories," said Mr Redmond, "want iiuaucial chaos regularised before they return to offico. I say let them stow in their own juice until we know what we aro going to do with the Lords' veto." He went on to say that the whisky duties brought no revenue. It was quite possible to exempt the small owners in Ireland from the new death duties and stamp duties, and small Irish breweries from license taxes,, Irish laud must be emptied by valuation, and such concessions would not affece the character of the Budget as a great democratic measure. He would be glad to reciprocate in a conciliatory tone with Mr Asquith's speech, aud consult with the Government regarding the Budget veto, but the Nationalists iutouded to staud to their pledges.
