Sir Ernest Shackleton is planning a purely scientific and geographical expedition towards the end of 1911. He is not competing with Captain Scott.

Sir Ernest Shackleton's bases will be at Cape Adair and Adeliland. He will explore betweeu Cape Adair and Jaussborg. Iv the staff are included some old companions. ' Mr Douglas Mawson, of Sydney, will be scientific director. Financial support is already well promised.
