HOCKEY.

The ninth annual meeting of the Cartertou Hockey Club was held on Wednesday eveuing. Mr W. J- O'Meara presided over a large attendance. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The Club had had a very prosperous season, finishing up with a credit balance of £8 ss. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows :—Patron, Mr W. C. " Buchanan, M.P. ; President, Mr W. Howard Booth; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. Moore, E. Eagle, junr., VV. M. Halley, W. Fisher and Jas. Fraser; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr E. F. Fairbrother; auditor, Mi R. V. King; Management Committee. Captain, Secretary. S. Morgan. R. V. King and J. B. Lawrence; Match Committee, Captain, R. V. King and Morgan; Daleagets to Wairarapa Hockey Association A. J. ami J. Fisher.

The subscription was fixed at 53 for old members, and 7s fld for new members.

Six new members were elected

A vote of thanks was accorded the retiring secretary, Mr S. Siovers, and all who had assisted the Club with donations, etc.

The S9asou is to open on April 7th, and the championship matches will probably commence in May.
