SWIMMING.
CATHOLIC SCHOOL SPORTS
At the Dixon-street South Baths, this luorning, the pupils of St. Patrick's School held their auuual swimming sports. The weather was all that could be desired, there beiug bright sunshine all the morning, which made the gathering very enjoyable for competitors and spectators alike. There was a good gatheriug of spectators, who were privileged to see some fine exhibitions of swimming aucl diviug. Miss Eileu O'Leary gave a spleudid display of diving of all descriptions, her graceful actious meeting with the approval of those preseut, as was evidenced by the frequent outbursts of applause and cheering which greeted her each time she rose to the surface. Mr R. Person's exhibition of swimmiug was equally well received By means of long and easy strokes he maintains a rate of progress that never fails to excite interest. The Very Rev. Deau MeKeuua was uutiriug in his efforts to promote the success of tbe gathering, aud credit is also due to Mr W. Falls, caretaker, who rendered valuable assistance during the progress of the sports.
