The Dominion Government is advancing six million dollars to the Montreal Harbour Commission to provide additional port facilities. The contract with the New Zealaud Shipping Company provides for monthly sailings from Montreal in the summer
aud from St. Johu in the wiuter, calling at Halifax. Tho subsidy is £0000 monthly, and the rates are not to exceed those from similar ports iv the Uuited States.
