CHARLIE'S FRIENDS.
During his last tour in Canada Lord Charles Beresford has beeu relating a good story about himself that may bo new to some people. Two or three days after his return to Parliament as member for East. Marylebone. the King was driving through St. John's Wood with him iv au opeu carriage. As they turned a corner a very dishevelled flower-girl called out: "'Uilo Chawlie! 'Aye yer got Wyles wiv yer this moruin'V" "I see you have been making a very extensive number of political friends," the Prince of Wales (as he then was) remarked, as be turned to Lord Charles with a smile.
