MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held ou Saturday last; preseut—Crs F. W. 11. Kumiuer (chairman), TT. J. Dagg, C. Forsberg, O. Isakson, aud C. Churchill Jackson.
Messrs Parser aud Co., sawmillars, wrote requesting permission to make a second tramline crossiug over the sectiou of the Mount Bruce-road which they have agreed to maintain.
Schedules of accrued thirds were forwarded by the Receiver of Laud Revenue.
The secretary of the Wellington Harbour Board forwarded uotice re appointing delegate to vote at elections, but it was received too late to bo dealt with at a meetiug of the Couucil.
The Chief Engineer of Now Zealaud Railways acknowledged receipt of letter gifing notice of termination of lease of stock paddock at Mauriceville Railway Station.
After hearing Cr Isaksou's report with reference to fencing the approach to the bridge over the Ruamahanga river at Mount Bruce road, it was decided to expend up to £2 ou this work, provided tho settlers interested subsidise it by a like amount, aud the clerk was instructed to notify Mr C. A. Wall to that effect.
It was resolved that all outstanding rates at 28th February be sued for forthwith.
With reference to Messrs Parker and Co. 's request coucerniug the tramline, it was decided to permit the crossing to remain as long as they maintaiu the sectiou of road according to the terms of their agreement with the Council.
Accounts amounting to £304 17s Sd were passed for payment.
