Thero is a considerable diversity of opinion with regard to the respective merits of Leghorns, Wyaudottes and Plymouth Rocks for egg producing. One who has had practical experience, pronounces in favour of 'dottes, as lie calls them for shortness. Leghorns are great summer layers, be admits, but tlie 'dottes will beat them hollow in winter, when egg-producing hens are most profitable. The Leghorn is also generally on the small side for the table, and as half the chicks come cockerels, that feature must not be overlooked. He like?, white lions best, and for that reason lie does not keep the barred Plymouth Rock, which are not bad layers. White Rocks and 'dottes are almost equally good as all round hens. He is quite satisfied with ten per cent, of pullets out of all the eggs he puts through his incubator. The ten per cent, in cockerels when sold will reduco the cost price of the pullets to the owner proportionately.
