NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP
MEETING
A. F. WILDING WINS THE
SINGLES
(By Telegraph—Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Champicuslups were coucluded to-day, with the exception of the last rouuds of the Combined Doubles, the results beiug as follow :—
Men' Championship Singles.—Semifinal: F. M. B. Fisher beat L. W. Hawkins, o—3, 6-0, G—i. Final: A. F. Wildiug beat Fisher, 6—l, 6—l, 6—l, (87 aces to 51).
Ladies' Championship Singles.— Semi-fiual: Miss L. Powdrell beat Miss Travers, 6—2, 4—6, 7—5; Miss K. Nuuuelly beat Miss K. Gray, 6—3, 12—10. Fiual: Miss Powdrell beat Miss Nuuuelly, 6—2, 6—2.
Meu's Championship Doubles.— Semi-final: F. Wilding, senr., and A. F. Wilding beat H. W. Browu aud C. J. Blair, 6-3, o—4, 6—2. Final: F. M. B. Fisher aud J. C. Peacock beat F. Wildiug, senr., aud A. F. Wilding, 9--7, 6—4, 5-7, 6—B, 6—2.
Ladies' Championship Doubles.— Final: Misses Powdrell and A. Gray beat Misses Nuuuelly and Braithwaite, 6—2, 6-3.
Combined Championship Doubles.— Third rouud: Dr Keith aud Miss A. Gray beat G. Ebbett aud Miss Eileen Wellwood, 9—7, 6—3; L. Hickson and Miss L. Powdrell .beat J. C. Peacock aud Miss Braithwaite, 6—2, 6—4.
One more match has to be played to complete the third rouud. Then the semi-fiual aud final. These contests will be played ou Friday.
