Johu Burns, President of the Local Government Board, accepted the bulb of the Lords' amendments to the Housing and Town Plauuiug Bill, but secured the rejection of some which ho regarded as destructive, including the changes of procedure where it isiuteuded to compulsorily purchase land. Another amendment was disagreed with as a breach of privilege on the speaker's ruling.
