LONGBUSH NOTES.

VVo have had four frosts iv succession. They will stop tho growth of the grass, hut wo are having., lovely days to make up for it. A very enjoyable birthday ga.tdi_i" iug was held at Mr R. W. Nunu's on Monday evening I was uot preseut, as I was a perish at lea statiou waiting for the river to go dowu on my wav from of the Wharo.'in'm river. Sougs and dancing were kept up cili an early hour. Scarlet foyer has broken our at Loughush, the infection spreading from a pupil attending the Gladstoue school, which has beon closed. • An accident, happily unattended with auy sorious results, happened ou the Kokatau Hill ou Tuesday. A gig driven by Mr P. Tattlo, with one lady passenger, backed over the bank, but beyond a broken splash-board and a severe shaking to the occupauts, no oue was hurt.
Feed is very plentiful here and stock ought to.have a very good time this winter.
