Kessrs Levin and Co., Ltd.. report: We offered 35 bales wool, 2000 skins, 850 hides, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool—There was good competition, and buyers operated with more confidence at advanced prices, in accordance with better tone in London. We quote : Medium crossbred 4d to s : l{d, inferior 3d to 4d, lambs' wool 4d to sd, pieces and locks Id to 2d, good crntcluugs 4d to medium crutchiugs 3d to 4d, seedy ami inferior ljkid to 2; { 4'd. Skins—Market showed an"advance of one halfpenny for all classes. We quote: Fine crossbreds 4d to 5-{d, crossbred 4rt to 4 dead skins 2d to 3V,d, dead hoggets 2d to 3V t 'd, dry pelfs Id to 3d, lambskins 3d to sd, green pelts 2s to 3s Bd, green lambs' woolly 2s to 3s 4d, green lamb pelts is to 2s. Tallow—Firm. Parcels in shipping order £23, tins £18 to £21 10s, rough fat £10 to £13. Horsehair—ls to Is 3d per lb. Horns—ss to 17s (id per hundred. Cowtails—ls 4d to Is Sd per dozen. Hides—Easier in sympathy with oversea markets. Ox hides: Prices for heavies fell medium 14' d. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. report:—We offered 110 bales wool, 2400 skins, and 300 hides. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was most animated. Prices all round ruled firm at last sale's quotations, light hides being slightly in sellers' favour. There were several nice parcels of crutchings in light condition offered, which elicited stray competition. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Comnany, Ltd., report as follows :—There was a good attendance at our sale, when we offered a large catalogue of skins and hides and a small lot of wool and tallow. Prices were about a farthing higher for wool and skins, and a good demand was experienced for hides and tallow at late rates.
