THE DEVOURING LADIES.

As prices for this clearance- have been cut much more than usual, the ladies arrived early, in thousands, and worked hard. During the opening days the floors groaned with the weight of women. Salesmen were harassed to the last extremity. The rush on the most popular departments—dress materials and household linens—was unprecedented.
