ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

At the Addiugton live stock market to-day there Avas a fairly large yarding of stock, aud a good attendance. Store sheep Avere rather easier; fat cattle showed an improvement; fat lambs sold well; pigs mot with a good sale.
There Avas a larger eutry of store sheep than last Aveek, aud of better quality thau usual. Ewes aud hoggets formed almost the total yarding. All lines changed hands at prices on about last Aveek's level, though competition for ewes Avas not so keen on account of the larger offering, iv a few cases values beiugin buyers' favour. Six aud eight-tooth ewes made up to 20s 9d for au extra good live, others 18s 9d, sound mouth l(ss (id to 17s Gd, failing mouth 14s to 15s. The sale of hoggets was similar to that of eAves, and though there was practically no chauge in prices, bidding Avas not so active. Ewe hoggets made up to 14s lid, others 12s to 14s, mixed lines up to 14s.
There Avas a small yardiug of fat lambs, and bidding Avas brisk, resulting in a hardening of values. Tegs made 17s Gd to 19s lid. ordinary Aveights 13s 6d to 17s, others up to 13s.
The entry of fat sheep was not so large as the previous Aveek. It included some extra prime lots of Avethers and ewes. There Avas again a good demand for wethers, aud for prime ewes guaranteed free from lamb, but other descriptions of ewes shoAved further decline, though not so pronounced as the previous week. Extra prime Avethers to 25s 3d, prime 19s to 23s 3d, lighter 15s 7d to 18s 6d, exra prime ewes to 24s 9a, prime 17s to 20s, medium 14s to IGs Gd, aged and light 10s to 13s Gd, merino Avethers 15s 3d to IGs, merino eAves lis 3d.
The yarding of fat cattle totalled 216 head, of winch there Avas a fair proportion of prime beef. The market opened at last week's level, but improved considerably towards the close, prime beef being equal to 23s to 265, extra to 283, medium 21s to 22s Gd, and coav and inferior 17s to 20s per 1001b. Steers made £G 15s to £10 10s, extra to £12 ss, heifers £5 15s to £9 ss, cows £4 10s to £8 12s Gd.
The store cattle cousisted mostly of aged cows, which made los to £3 12s. Tliere Avas a better inquiry for stores, and of a feAV offered two-and-a-half--year steers sold at £3 Is, and three-year steers £3 Gs.
Good dairy cows were in demand, and sold up to £10. Inferior sorts were as low as £3 7s Gd.
The entry of fat pigs Avas a small one, but included some animals of very nice quality. The demand was good, and all lines were sold at prices quite equal to those ruling the previous Aveek. Large bacouers realised from £3 ito £3 10s, medium 48s to 58s. —equal to 5%d to si£d per lb—large porkers 35s to 425, smaller 30s to 34s— equal to 5%d to Gd per lb. .There Avas a good entry of stores, and a capital demaud, large kinds making 34s to 86s Gd, medium 25s to 325, and small 20s to*24s. Weaners sold at 12s to 14s.
