WOMAN'S SUICIDE.

{By Telegravh—fress Association.) ASHBURTON, Yesterday.

A young married woman named Mrs Heriot, wife of a' Papanui resident, employed in his father's store, committed suicide last night by hanging herself to a tree in the farm orchard of a relative named Mr J. Evans, whom she was visiting at Spreadeagle, sixteen miles from Ashburton. Deceased retired ti bed as usual last night, but later her absence was discovered through the cries of her two young children. Several hours' search failed to reveal her whereabouts, but at daybreak the body was found, quite dead. No reason is assigned for the deed.
