FERNRIDGE SCHOOL.
BREAKING UP FOR SUMMER
VACATION.
■ In response to an invitation from the headmaster, Mr R. G. Foss, a number of residents of the Upper Plain attended the Fernridge School yesterday afternoon on the occasion of the dismissal for the summer vacation and the announcement of the promotions for 1908. Mr Harry Perry presided.
programme was provided hymtb children, assisted by Miss J. McGregor. At the conclusion of the musical portion of the programme the chairman presented the assistant, Miss Robinson, who is leaving, with a handsome gold brooch, subscribed for by the children, and, in doing so, referred to the regard with which Miss Robinson was held by the children.
Mr Duncan McGregor, seur., and the Rev. A. T. Thompson made references to school aims and ideals.
The following promotions were then announced :—
