"I wouldn't 'aye called, mum," said the tramp, seeing that he need expect nothing more from that house, "only I 'oped you might 'aye one of them little 'ome-made buns like you gave me on Good Friday. I wants to enlist, but I'm jest a stone too light, and one of your little buns would 'aye put me right."
